The latches are designed for both felt and straw hats. They have a hole in the front of the brim to hang on the wall or can just be laid down flat. They are made of plastic, are two pieces that Velcro together and have a hole in the middle of the top piece for the crown of the hat.
The Rodeo has a 5.5" wide front brim front, sides start with a 1" roll and go to 2" at the middle of the crown and taper back to a 1" roll at the back of the crown.
The back of the brim is slightly rounded.
